This book was born from a meeting. Two people fascinated by sports meet on a sunny afternoon on a terrace in Barcelona. Both have practiced sports for years, although in different modalities.
We are convinced that sport is an integral activity that alters, develops and activates every dimension of the human being, what is visible and invisible, material and immaterial, its essence as well as it exterior presence.
It is an extraordinary and useful path that activates the spiritual intelligence of every human being; enables transcendence; frees from ego; integrates into the Whole; allows living peak experiences that trigger, as a consequence, the emotional life and the inner being.
Torralba and Santos reflect on sports and its relationship with spirituality

He runs courses and gives conferences around the world and he is a consultant for different non-profit making organisations. El arte de saber escuchar, El sentido de la vida and Sosegarse en un mundo sin sosiego (this last also published by Plataforma) are among his latest publications.
Ismael Santos (Ourense, 1972) went to Madrid signed up by the basketball section of Real Madrid where he played 14 seasons. He made his debut in the professional team in 1989, then playing nine seasons and four years as captain. After two seasons with the team Benetton Treviso in Italy, one season in Greece and a last season in Italy again in 2003 he finally left professional basketball. After retiring he began mountaineering, what became for him a way of life and a real school of values. He is the author of From the top.
